How it all began

Every love story has an itinerary. This is ours.

The Beginning

At the beginning of April, Misael was travelling around Brazil to visit his family, while Ana Luisa had just been accepted into her master’s programme in London. Without knowing it, their paths were already being drawn together.

Rafael & Larissa and Calebe & Ester set their slightly Machiavellian plan in motion: the girls told Ana about Misael, while the boys told Misael about Ana.

One Sunday, after church at Sal da Terra, the group went out for a meal. Their friends secretly arranged the table so the two would have to sit side by side. That was where they met, started talking and, soon after, going out. From there… the rest is history.

Officially Us

Almost two months after they first met, Misael crossed the ocean to see Ana Luisa again. Over a dinner for two at an Italian restaurant, he asked her to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, it was officially the beginning of everything.

Our Adventure Book

From two weeks together to two months and twenty days apart, an ocean between them, until Ana Luisa moved to London. In the meantime, a gift from him to her: a book to keep all the adventures still to come.

Our Adventure Book — capa

That’s why I left a book of blank pages, so that together we can fill them with each one of our adventures on this journey.

With love and care, Misael

The Proposal

A surprise trip, a stroll through Madrid. In front of the Royal Palace, down on one knee, Misael asked the most important question of his life: would Ana Luisa marry him? And, of course, she said yes.

After the yes, the celebration. Pull the photo strip.

Wedding information

Saturday, December 12th, 2026

Goiânia · Goiás · Brazil

The exact time and address will follow with the official invitation.

Dress code

The required attire is full formal wear, exclusively in black, with the following guidelines:

Women: Black formal dress.

Men: Full black suit (jacket and trousers). The colour of the shirt and traditional tie is up to your preference.

A kind reminder: white and its variations are reserved for the bride and groom, with the exception of men’s dress shirts.

Destination guide

Goiânia, the capital of Goiás, in the heart of Brazil. Planned in the 1930s, famous for pequi-coloured sunsets, sertanejo music and food that hugs you back. It’s where Ana Luisa grew up — and where this story finishes beginning.

Getting there

Goiânia’s airport is Santa Genoveva (GYN). Coming from abroad you’ll usually connect in São Paulo (GRU) or Brasília (BSB) — from Brasília it’s also a ~3h drive.

Where to stay

The Bueno, Marista and Jardim Goiás districts have the best hotels and are close to everything. Our recommendations:

  • Comfort Suites Flamboyant
  • K Hotel

What to do

  • Vaca Brava Park — A walk, a sunset, and the city’s postcard view.
  • Hippie Fair & Central Market — Shopping and snacks, the Goiás way.
  • Cerrado sunsets — The Goiás sky bows to no one.
  • Bars & live music — The capital of sertanejo will not disappoint.

What to eat

  • Pamonha — The Goiás classic. Sweet, savoury, with cheese — don’t argue, just try it.
  • Pequi — The cerrado’s fruit. Golden rule: nibble, never bite.
  • Empadão goiano — A pie the size of the local hospitality.
  • Galinhada with pequi — The definitive Sunday lunch.

Survival guide

🌍

For non-Brazilians

surviving (and loving) Brazil

  • Visa — UK passport holders: no visa needed for stays up to 90 days. US passport holders: Brazil requires an e-visa — apply online a few weeks ahead. Always double-check current rules before flying.
  • Money — The currency is the Real (R$). Cards are accepted nearly everywhere; PIX is the local instant payment everyone uses. Some cash is handy for street food.
  • Power & SIM — Outlets are type N (the EU two-pin usually fits), 220V in Goiânia. Grab an eSIM (Airalo etc.) — you’ll want maps and WhatsApp.
  • Language — English is not widely spoken. Learn: "Oi!" (hi), "Obrigado/Obrigada" (thank you), "Uma cerveja, por favor" (you’ll need it — it’s hot).
  • Weather — December = Brazilian summer: 30°C+ days and dramatic late-afternoon rain. Pack light; the venue dress code is still all black, sorry.
  • WhatsApp — Brazil runs on WhatsApp. Restaurants, taxis, your hotel — everything. Make sure yours works.
